Building your own laminates on Selmer's

I'm just starting to build my first Selmer replica, and I'm questioning about how to make my own laminates for sides and back.
Can somebody help me on technical doubts; like....

What will be the final thickness for the sides and back?
Do you use three or four layers?
Do you make layers perpendicular (like plywood) or all the same grain run?
